Out for dinner

Ellie and I went out for dinner at Big Horn Steak House in Puerto Rico yesterday. It was our last meal out while we're here in Gran Canaria, so we treated ourselves with good food. We had garlic bread and buffalo wings for starters, then we had steak for main meal and we ordered ice-cream for desert. Ellie had chocolate mousse cake. Sharon and Malin (the waitresses) walked to our table singing happy birthday to Ellie, hahaha! It was more like a farewell song
because Ellie's contract at BigHorn ran out a two days ago.

We had fun. I burned my finger on the sparkler and i've got a burn line on my finger, not fun. When we we're about to leave a chinese lady ran into the Big Horn toilet with two policemen chasing her. LOL! Malin opened the door from the outside because the woman had been in there for 5 minutes. She was pressing herself up against the door, so the policemen just kicked open the door and put her in handcuffs. She's probably going to be sent back to china again now. She sells all sorts of things like, tiaras, teddies, sparkling things and bob marley dolls LOL. Anyway Maria was the weakest Chink! So bye-bye! (NO OFFENCE ITS A JOKE JUST LIKE EVERYONE HAS JOKES ABOUT WHITES AND BLONDS DON'T GET OFFENDED!)

Matt Giraud made the papers in Norway!

One of my favorites who got saved by the judges in American Idol wednesday made the news in Norway and many other countries. That's good! But I didn't like the title of the article: The judges of american Idol blew off the peoples vote.
Well i'm happy that's all that matters to me.

Go Matt Giraud

American Idol!

Yes! Matt is one of my favorites and he got cut yesterday, but the judges decided to save him! OH MY GOSH! I never thought they would, i mean i would obviously but the judges. Come on, never thought Simon would, then again he was really quick to ruin the happiness. LOL.

Hopefully Matt will do better next week and not be cut.

My opinion is that Lil Rounds and Anoop "Dog" should go because i think all the other are way better than them. Like Adam Lambert! He's the best i've ever seen step foot on the Idol stage, and i hope he wins it all!

My Friend just got stood up and is looking for new love :)

Yes, that's right! She got stood up by Johnny Depp. It's a shame since i would have made a perfect bridesmaid LOL. Anyway, i have become her right hand and i have been put to the task of finding a new man for her. Since Johnny is a hard look and personality to beat it is going to be a tough challenge. It will give me the chance to bring out the Simon Cowell in me, but not to worry, i know there are wonderful men out there who would be a perfect match to my friend Kine aka "The Bachelorette".

She is a 19 soon 20 year old woman currently traveling the world but will be back in time for a perfect wedding day on the 3rd of June. So men, don't be scared to rise up to the challenge. Just imagine you are to rescue a damsel in distress.

Applicants must include picture, video would be nice, but not necessary. In your application please tell us something about yourselves and why you are great for our Bachelorette.

Good luck to you all! =)

Unsuspected things can happen

When you look at my title you might think of something that has happened in your life that came when you least expected it to. As many of you know i am now in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria visiting my sister. She is working at a well known restaurant here in the tourist center, and yesterday while walking to work a man dropped dead behind her. He was probably in his 50s, on holiday and his wife with him. Poor woman, i really do feel for her. A holiday is something we all look upon as a happy occasion, but not for this poor couple.

This all happened around 6 o'clock and they were trying to bring him back to life for almost 45 minutes with no luck. My sister could witness all off this from the second floor of the center from looking out of the restaurant window. He was lying in the middle of the center outside a supermarket, a restaurant and a jewelry shop, so you can imagine there was a crowd of people staring at the poor woman who was shaking with shock and crying for her dead husband. I don't get that, why do people want to look at that? First of all that woman just lost her husband and the man is dead. Why would you want to stare at a dead man and a grieving woman? It's just horrible.

Around 6 months ago, a man fell down from the railing which was on the second floor of the center down to the very bottom, past 1st floor. You might call it floor zero. It's a long way down i can tell you. This happened only 10 meters away from where i was standing, i did not see this happen but people all around me ran to the scene. Even people i know. It made me a bit angry, who would like to see such a thing, you can imagine the horrid scene, the man falling three stories straight on solid pavement. Later a friend told me he had landed on his face, his head cracked open, a lot of broken bones, but he was alive in a coma. Thank God the man lived through this, but tell me why would you want to look at that poor man?

Back to the other story. The couple as you know we're on holiday, so because they we're tourists the Spanish police had to be extra cautious with the body and examine it thoroughly before it could be admitted to the morgue. The man was covered by a white blanket with 8 policemen covering the body and a couple other police men examined the "crime" scene. The man wasn't removed until around 10 o'clock. I understand and appreciate the work the policemen do around here and all over there world, but i feel sorry for the wife who had to watch her husband dead on the floor with hundreds of people passing and looking at him, and her for that matter.

Can anyone tell me what is so interesting with a dead person? it sounds horrible to put it that way, but just remember there is a story behind it and a family. Just pass and don't get curious because i can promise you there will be updates in the news paper the day after. You all know this i hope, pay some respect!

Walt Disney World Interview

OK so i told you that i was going to have an interview with Walt Disney world and it has been almost 3 weeks now, and i have the answer.

Here's the story:

Friday, March 20Th: I packed my bags for the road, Oslo is almost 6 hours away by car and we we're leaving at 05.00 pm. My sister Thorunn and her husband Runar offered to drive me i jumped to the chance of course. It was very nice of them but i guess they had their reasons for a little trip away from the kids for two days is nice. Anyway on with my story; so you know how Americans are very stricked on hair, makeup and what to wear on an interview, no, well i was well informed.

- be really nicely and professionally dressed
- NO blue jeans
- NO t-shirt
- and NO TENNIS SHOES
- A suit would be perfect!
- Males : make sure to be properly shaved

I'm not a male but wanted to point out that they are very professional.
Anyway, so i needed to find a suit. Where on earth would i get that without having to go into town and buy some fancy clothes. I was running around trying to look through every single item of clothing that i had at home. At the moment i still had a lot of things packed from getting back from Spain. After two hours i nearly gave up, i felt like a mess and was so nervous for the interview. As i was walking downstairs to the first floor of our house i found some suit pants that i had forgotten about. YAY! Happy, now the only thing i needed was a nice top and cardigan to go with it. I had already planned how my makeup would look and how my hair was going to fall. So off we went, but before that i watched twilight and OH MY GOODNESS, how hot is that main guy. Jeez i was drooling!

OK we we're off and i started reading the ten pages long fact sheet i printed out from wikipedia.com about Walt Disney World, just in case they asked any questions on that. I got a bit tired of it after a while so i just decided to join the conversation to make it a bit easier for myself.

After driving for a while we stopped at a gas station for some food and some drinks. I went out for some air and saw a young (handsome) guy standing next to his car pumping gas, and then lighting up his cigarette right next to the pump. IDIOT, but cute.

At around 11.00 pm we arrived in Oslo, the capital of Norway, so you can imagine it's a big city, and driving around on a Friday evening wasn't all that fun. We got a bit lost but none of us wanted to ask for directions, it's not the smartest move when your surrounded by drunk people, and two weeks earlier you read about people getting shot outside bars. So no, not an option, but in the end we found the hotel. It was a nice little hotel called "Bondeheimen". It was a bit old fashioned. I fell asleep at 01.00 am, a bit late considering i had to be up at 07.00 am, but i could not sleep.

I got up, had a shower, put my makeup on, the fancy clothes, and did my hair, in a propper interview style, a low ponytail, twisted up into a bun. It was boring but that's the way to look profession. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, nice food but a bit strange. The interview location was only a few blocks away, i got there at 08.25 am. I stood there for a couple of minutes because the door was locked, i thought to myself God how embarrassing I'm gonna have to stand here for an hours or so, cos the welcome meeting wasn't till 09.30 SHARP! To my surprise another girl came walking my way. She was nice, she told me she was going to the interview also, and told me that she had been working at a theme park before and so i told her i had been working in Spain. She also told me that she had visited a website where she could read possible interview questions and that she had been studying her answers. That's a wee bit overboard, but OK. 15 minutes later the door opened, and we were escorted into the cafeteria, there we're 5 people there all ready. four girls and a boy. They we're all really nice, one of the girls kept babbling on how she had been to America and knew so much more then us, i guess she was right but it was annoying me. The guy, his name was Anders i think, he didn't say much but seamed nice. We we're all hoping we we're the only once that would show up cos then we'd all get the job, but when the clock had ticked past nine, the people kept streaming in, i thought to myself; I don't stand a chance!.

at 09.30 am the lady from international services told us that the meeting was starting so we all streamed into the room. I sat at the second row to be closer and look more interested :P
They had a video rolling on big screen, it was like a video presentation of Walt Disney world. The interviewers looked nice, and they we're really happy, not scary people, which was good. I had picked out the woman i wanted to interview me and now i just had to hope i got her. Almost 2 hours later we had gotten to know allot about what we would be doing in Orlando while working, what to wear to work, what not to wear and that we had to look naturally blond, i felt stared at. I am blond but I've had it platina blond for about 2 years, platina is like Lady gaga, Christina Aguilera, you get the point. I like it like this but then again id rather work for Disney then not be cos of my hair color. Anyway, we all got divided into groups and i was in the second one, that meant that my interview would start at 11:50. We got a form to fill out and then we would have to go upstairs and sit in the waiting room. Before the interview we sat down with the french woman, she sorted our papers out, asked if we had any tattoos, piercings, a criminal record and what name we wanted on our tag.

I sat there waiting for an hour before my interview, i had already seen Anders walk out of the interview room relieved. A couple of minutes later the woman called my name and for my luck it was the one i wanted. She was really nice and asked me a lot of questions and i answered all off them pretty well, to my surprise, well i guess i did cos i made her laugh. She was nice.
Now i had to wait 10 days before i knew if i got it or not.

Tuesday, March 31st: Ten days had gone from the day of the interview and i was checking my email every five minutes. No email. no email, no email.... A bit worried. Probably didn't get it..

Friday, April 3rd: It was Renee's birthday and i was leaving for Spain the day after, i had packed my bags and was just checking my email before leaving to my sisters cos the airport is so far away. There it was! The email i had been waiting for: Answer to your Walt Disney World interview! Please confirm!‏
I hesitated to open it for a minute or two, and when i did i read: Congratulations!!!!. I burst out in tears, leaving my sister confused and my mum in shock. When i finally could speak i said id got the job and carried on crying, mascara down my cheeks. Silly i know but it was such a relief and i had wanted it for 4 months now. I was so happy and still am! I will be leaving on July 14Th. I can not wait! I'm in Spain at the moment. So its sunny and hot! I still can't believe it. I'm happy!
